I recently found out that 'China in your Hand' is a basically about the Frankinstein story - it's a musing on both Mary Shelley who wrote it and the story itself. I'm now listening to the song in a really different way.

I am also told by the wisdom of the internet that 'It's All Coming Back To Me' is about Wuthering Heights. It's a song about the kind of obsessive love which digs up your lover's dead body to cradle it in the moonlight. It should be heard as a love song from Heathcliffe to Cathy.

And I'm now reminded of how very creepy Heathcliff is...

Heathcliff is indeed a bit on the creepy side.

Frankenstein? Ooooh.

I've always liked that song anyway, but that is an interesting new level to it. :)

Have you seen any of Jasper Fforde's "Thursday Next" books? One of them prominently features a group therapy session with the characters from "Wuthering Heights."

That is interesting. Heathcliff is well creepy, no doubt. Remember the puppies....

I'm assuming that you already know that The Cure's Killing an Arab refer's to L'Etranger by Albert Camus - not just literature, but foreign literature!
