A lazy Sunday...
Apr. 22nd, 2007 11:44 amI was woken this morning by the slightly alarmingly gung ho shouts of the megaphone wielding individuals in trucks who drive at the front of the London marathon runners this morning, as they jogged past my house.
This was an alarming way for Sunday morning to begin. I have, however, soothed the stress of being that close to so much physical fitness by pottering in the garden. I have now sown pansy seeds, and planted the strawberry plants that
lanfykins brought me yesterday - which are very very appreciated.

Here is the view from the living room out onto the garden.

When you get outside, this is my garden. Not entirely the tidiest, but the terrifying jungle that it was has been hacked into considerably more shape than it had two months ago!

I've dug out some little flowerbeds, and marked the edges with rocks. I know they look really scruffy, still, but they are all my own work! There are seeds that have been planted in little rows in these flowerbeds as well.

And here is Sarah's strawberry plant, carefully bedded down in its new home.

And finally, this is the view of the house, from the garden.
It's been a very quiet weekend -
pierot came down with a vile migraine yesterday, so that rather nuked our capacity to do anything - but a very nice one for all that. I've had my gardening time, my reading books time, and my watching trashy TV time. I also seem to have finished my chemistry essay with one day to tidy it up, which makes me happy.
Today I am heading over to Lewisham to see
kittyboo_tastic, and then coming back to go swimming with
pierot and
ksirafai and tidy up my essay for handing in tomorrow. For tomorrow, term begins again...

I may even go tackle the rest of it soon.
Fear us and our green fingers!

Date: 2007-04-22 04:52 pm (UTC)I'm also trying to not to anything too permanent at the moment, as there is a plan to pretty much get the garden savagely re-done in a couple of years, when J and I have a bit more money - we'd quite like to dig out a proper patio, and maybe get some terracing put in - so I don't want to put anything in right now which I'd then be upset to have to dig up in a year or so's time.

After that, they turn into tasty, tasty weeds.
