BPAL Santa Domingo
Oct. 14th, 2007 03:49 pmThe site says: An exotic, sultry blend of tobacco leaf, bay rum and heady Caribbean blossoms.
On the wrist: I can definitely pick up the tobacco leaf and bay rum, but they seem a little strong - rather overwhelming the blossoms. I can smell the tavern by the dock. I can't smell the flowers growing outside. It's a scent for the evening - for drinking and smoking - it's not a day time scent.
Final verdict: 7/10. I like this, but I've tried quite a few scents which seem to have the same notes and they are just a bit nicer. It also smells a little of aftershave - I wonder if it might work quite well on
bringeroflight. Definitely available to swap.
I also need to work out whether I want to buy a bottle of Samhain 2007. What with the postal strike I've still not received any of my decant imps, and I'm beginning to get a little bit jittery. We're halfway through October and my shiney things budget is looking rather badly depleted, especially after my trip to Camden yesterday.* I've got several scents with cloves and nutmeg, but I'm intrigued by the idea of damp woods and fir needles being mixed in with that.
Argh! Decisions, decisions...
*As a side note - I had a lovely day in Camden yesterday with an assortment of people.
pierot is a fantastic boyfriend, who bought me a new bag and a really nice red dress. I bought myself a tiny bottle of eucalyptus oil for my box of tricks - eucalyptus oil is good for cleaning away stains left by adhesive tape - and a snakey bangle. I also had a strawberry and chocolate pancake which always makes me happy.
