I wish someone would get around to writing software that used the 'birthdate' field on all my friends' LJs to, well, remind me a day or so in advance ;)

Or I could always go with that bit of Second Republic tech they call 'a diary'.

It gives you a html thing you can paste into an lj entry or email, and when people add themselves it puts the relevant info on your list.
