He isn't making money in the publishing business. He's been making a fortune at the Old Vic playing the Wicked Uncle. It's true! I recognise a Dave Wade character when I see it. It had the meglamania, the plummy accent and the right style of wicked lines. I was very impressed.

Beyond that, Aladdin was an absolute dream. Or nightmare. I'm not sure which. I think it depends heavily on your opinion of traditional trashy panto. Ian McKellan flounced around in drag with a great deal of gusto, Aladdin and the Princess gazed misty eyed at each other, the Wicked Uncle was wicked, and everyone lived happily ever after. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to get away from the image of Magneto in drag, however, and my dreams last night were haunted with a vision of the Brotherhood of Mutants and what they might be getting up to in their secret lair, come December. How would you cast the Brotherhood? Mystique would obviously make a great principle boy, and I can really see Toad as Hanky or Panky, one of the bumbling acrobat/policemen.

Ideas?

I refuse to think about such things.

You know Magnito is wearing pink frilly bloomers under his costume.

Sabretooth, with a couple of strategically placed balloons, is obviously an Ugly Stepsister.

I think you'd have Quicksilver as Dim Sum. Though I can never remember whih group of disposable mutants are actually in the brotherhood, and not the marauders or the nastry boys or whatever.

Quicksilver was one of the original lineup of the BoEM, along with the Scarlet Witch, Toad, the Blob and possibly Avalanche, Pyro and ...erm, the other one who occasionally hangs around with them. Magneto bossed them around. Mystique's lot came laong later, after Magneto had ben re-gooded, de-gooded and probably killed and resurrected. :)

But yeah, Magneto As Britannia. Priceless. :P

You looked great dancing with Widow Twankey. And Ian McKellan has surprisingly good legs for a man his age.

Oh oh oh! That does remind me. Pyro has to be the genie in the lamp and FINALLY put his powers to good use.

I thought Magneto was already in drag. Long billowing purple cloaks and capes and that headgear?

And nothing is more gay than Mystique giggling while Magneto cattily tells Rogue, "Love what you've done to your hair."

I'm trying to remember if Mastermind was part of the original Brotherhood lineup...
