We have the keys to our house! The contract is signed, and it is ours!

[profile] rweishaar, [profile] bringerlight, [profile] pierot and I went over last night. From mine and Jeremiah’s bedroom window you can look out over the Thames to Canary Wharf, and look down on the silver dragon on Pridwen’s roof. It’s a glorious place. We all sat in the living room, on heavy leather sofas, and chattered about what the move will mean.

I suppose the one sad thing (maybe) about our move is that the new place is a LOT less guest friendly than the Cantina was. We don’t have a spare room anymore, and the polished wood floors, while much more kitten friendly and easier to clean, aren’t going to be great for anyone to sleep on.

We’ve also got [profile] christabelle9 moving in soon (*fingers crossed*) and she’s not a role player, so it isn’t really fair to keep living in RPG Central. There will still be some of the tabletop games, and there will be guests on occasion, but I don’t think we’re going to be able to manage mass crash space from Friday to Sunday on the Zeitgeist weekends anymore, which is kinda a shame. On the plus side, we’ve got two flats til December 22nd (I know it’s a HUGE crossover period), so we can offer a LOT of crash space for the next two Zeitgeist weekenders. Erm. If you’re OK with staying in the middle of a general removals zone, that is…

In other news, I am pondering Past Life Regression Therapy today, mostly on the basis of having just read a thriller by Susan Hill (who is a wonderful writer of ghosts stories, and not a bad writer of detective stories) which featured alternative therapies. I don’t have any deep need of therapy, but I do have a great deal of curiosity regarding Past Life Regression.

If it’s real, of course it would be incredible to know who once were. If it isn’t, I’d be really curious to see what my subconscious could come up with. Would it be a series of lives lifted out of all my favourite text books? Would I get to be that 19th century Russian girl? Or would (most horrifying of all) I turn out to have been a survivor of Atlantis or possibly a witch killed in the Burning Times?

Astrology Sue (with who I work) thinks I may have lived in Anglo-Saxon England in a previous life, because I sought it out in this life as my period of study. I’m really not entirely convinced, but I still think it would be interesting.

Am I insane?

Do we have to reference this post in our answer to the question?

*sticks out tongue*

Insanity in reference to curiosity about Past Life Regression. Further insanity is something to be addressed elsewhere.

Well, you seem to know what you'd want out of the experience. Being such a hardcore sceptic I quite naturally think it's a load of gumph, but I'd still like to see what comes out, in much the same way as I'd like to visit psychics and give conmen my loose change. Call it morbid curiosity.

Am I insane?
Yes but not for thinking about Past Life Regression :oD
It's something I intend to do some time, I know I've been here at least once before, but I suspect it's more like a good many times before, I'd love to know who I was previously.

I tried having it done once. It didn't work. Though the person trying to do it was questionable. It is still something I would love to find out about.

You are not insane at all!

Please take great care to research your Practitioner if you go for past life regression of ANY kind.

I didn't. I was stupid. I ended up paying quite a lot for a totally useless session during which I was patronised. It also coincided with the onset of a run of migraines - quite different from any I had before - which still plague me from time to time. Now, the migraine thing could be co-incidental. The total waste of money (and being patronised) was not.

There may well be some good practitioners out there, but the man I went to was a pretentious idiot.

I got much better results from deep meditation and journeying. Not that those results can ever be verified, but it's not as if any practitioner can give you proof.

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer doing things under my own steam and on my own conditions.

...and seeings as I haven't seen a recent [livejournal.com profile] pierot post to bung this on, can I get my spare X-Box controller and any of my games that are lurking over at the Cantina back?

Ta very much.

Message passed on.

Jez says the x box controller shall be returned, but he doesn't know if we have any of your games. It is entirely possible that we do (I've had bad experiences lately of saying "I'm sure we haven't stolen anything of yours. Erm. Except those four books which seem to be sitting there. And the cheese grater. And the saucepans. OK, we've got a lot of stuff" you might want to appear and have a poke yourself at some point as the intricacies of xbox games are entirely beyond me.

I think the issues I have with past life regression is that I've not come across many people who got regressed and were completely new... given the massive population explosions recently, there must be a significant number of new souls... maybe they tend not to be interested in finding out.

Like Rikk, I am an unbeliever. Make what you can of your span.

Not necessarily. More people have died in the past than are alive now so it's possible that we've all had one past life.

I've had a couple of odd experiences in that direction. One was happy, one was sad. I'm of the opinion that they said more about what I wanted at the time than anything, a bit like tarot, although the idea of picking things up from a collective unconscious appeals to me and makes more intuitive sense to me than reincarnation per se.

Oh, and I didn't go to an "expert". That was done under my own steam.

I have a special place in my heart for the movie "Dead Again."

I'm not sure if it's more likely that I was an artist or mass murderer in a past life. And was probably a girl.
