OK...I may have said earlier than I don't have any real life news. Well, I do.

I just spoke to the estate agents.

All our references have gone through now.

Our new house is OURS as of Monday 14th.

*does her happy dance*

It's all going well. Kittens arrive either November 20th or November 28th, and then...

Oh, I don't know. I don't think there is a 'then'. I think I'm just going to be happy and bounce, for I am happy. I have a boyfriend I like, I have a job I quite enjoy, I get to do interesting academic research, and I'm going to get kittens soon. Life is pretty damn good.

Yes! Definitely 'yay kittens'. I really hope you and Phil do make it down at some point so I can show you them. They are gorgeous beasties and it would be great if they didn't set off Phil's allergies.

It would be wonderful, then I could talk him into getting cats too (he has admitted that if he wasn't allergic to them I would have managed to talk him into it ages ago, of course, since he is, I've not actually tried).

Would muchly like to come down and visit you, maybe sometime early next year? What's the likelihood of you making it up here again?

I was really hoping to come up to Edinburgh in December, but that's looking slightly complicated atm, mostly coz Christmas is very selfishly on the third weekend of December, and jez has pointed out that we really need to spend at least one of the other two weekends visiting his parents if we won't make it down on Xmas weekend itself. Kittens are also making it a bit hard to get away - basically while they are little they do need people around them. We do have flatmates who are good and may be persuaded to look after small fuzzy things for a weekend, but it makes it all a bit tougher.

I am trying to figure something out. In theory jez and I have decided to come to Edinburgh at some point when we can, coz then he can see the city and meet people like you and Corsie, but the practicality of this is more complex than I thought.

I'm sure Edinburgh has gotten further away since I moved! I used to be able to do Edinburgh/London quite easily. Now it seems to involve work (tm).

It would be great if you could make it up in December, but kittens are important, and so is looking after them, so if you can't make it, that's okay. Maybe if red_phil ends up going to Luton, I could meet him down there one weekend and come see you rather than him coming back here every weekend?
