*purrs contentedly*
And so I am in London, currently sitting in Evil Squared with
pierot's new flat but a minute's walk away. There is something very restful about being here and not having to face either sleeping on the sofa or a long drive home. It turns out that one can turn up at a new flat straight from a family Christmas, without having packed, and have most of the things you need.
God bless Christmas.
It all went surprisingly well. Spending Christmas away from my family was kinda tough, but Jeremiah's family were deeply sweet to me. We went for a walk on the beach on Christmas Day, got fed massive amounts, and I got Stuff in huge amounts. I'm basically materielistic. I like Stuff. Jeremiah got me a bonsai tree, amongst other things, which I am still gloating about. My Dad got me puss-in-boot style boots, which look superb, and Li'l Sis #2 got me a new charm bracelet to replace the one which was stolen in South America. Then there were books, DVDs, chocolates, bath stuff, new pyjamas, more sparklies and even some CDs to give me some legitimately gained music.
Jeremiah appreciated his dagger making kit, which is good, and I think the presents I got mine and his families all went down well.
Ooooh...and
lanfykins got me a authentic medieval silver penny. This impressed me a quite unreasonable amount. So - thank you Sarah. You're fab.
Boxing Day was a bit harder. Jez was hideously sick and therefore abandoned me to my extended family Christmas while he wandered off to Surrey Quays and the new flat, which I sulked a bit about. However, my cousins were all lovely to me, I got to meet my cousin Victoria's new baby and I got given a new name! Victoria's two year old, Alice, can't quite pronounce a lot of names. She does know who we all are, but tends to get a lot of things wrong. Therefore myself and my two sisters, Helen and Kate, aren't 'Sally, Helen and Kate'. We are 'Lally, Ellen and Gite'. Gite, by the way, rhymes with 'meet'. I think I quite like 'Lally'. I have definitely been given worse names.
And now I'm at Jeremiah's new flat. We've got the bonsai tree and assorted christmas presents set up, and jez,
rweishaar,
ksirafai and myself stocked the kitchen today. We've got bed linen, clothes and it's warm and comfortable. I think it may be a happy flat. It feels clean, freshly done up, and with a lot of sunlight everywhere, even though it's winter. It could be a happy flat.
I think I'll leave it on that.
I've got lots of Stuff, I've had a good christmas, and I'm feeling optimistic about the

It's all going to be good.
