Me?

I'm not a big fan of sports movies, boxing leaves me cold, and I often get testosteroned out by Russel Crowe and I left the cinema in a distinctly moist eyed state. Cinderella Man isn't just a sports film. It's a film about the Depression in the US, it's a film about hope, it's a film about heroes and it's also a really old fashioned traditional inspirational and weepie film done with a great deal of polish and class.

Oh, and if anyone does go and see it - look out for the neighbour - Sara. She's played by the grandaughter of the real Jim Braddock. I felt it was rather cheating for her to be a real actress. It took me ages to work out who the grandaughter was playing, having been informed in advance that she was playing someone.

I'm awful at wrapping up these mini-reviews, so let's just leave it with 'I'm still bouncing and prone to punching the air. Hrm. I may feel a training montage sequence coming on' and then, on that note, I'll head to bed.

Yeahno, I figured I'd not entirely approve. :P I'm not good at heartwarming... On the bright side, I got food and Spider Solitaire and Lots of Books, and didn't have to watch Russell Crowe... ;P

I feel montages should be an essential part of everyone's lives, though. It'd save so much time and so many dragging cut scenes... ;P

You should see Mike do his training montage with the vaccum cleaner. Quite scarey. Course not quite as scarey as when I came home and he was doing a scene from Risky Business, singing and dancing in the kitchen in his underwear. I am still scarred from the experience.
