Zeitgeist Garou
Aug. 31st, 2005 05:46 pmToday and yesterday
pierot and I started bouncing ideas for Zeitgeist Garou.
As some of you may know, I've been running the NPC Garou in London, and as such have designed a caern, and written some back history, and have a couple of NPCs wandering around the place. Jez is also coming to the conclusion that there are limits on how many games one man can run alone. He is, however, a complete control freak and doesn't want to leave me on my own, and so we are going to be running Zeigeist Garou together.
It's almost sweet, right? Either that or nauseating and cloying. I'm not sure which.
Anyway, Zeitgeist Garou.
It is meant to be based around a low level city caern, one which has recently been scouted out by a couple of packs. Influences for the game so far include Underworld (I rather like the werewolves in it - the ones who crawl through the underground, and have lairs underneath the city), Neverwhere (as is the case with all good London based larps) and probably a fair chunk of local urban myth and British folk lore. I'm definitely going for a more down-and-dirty, urban, slightly outcast feel to the game than most werewolf larps - the good and the glorious don't often come live as urrah, in my world. It will have the kind of open character generation that the other games have had, but I personally am very keen on Bone Gnawers, Glasswalkers, Fianna, Get of Fenris and Silver Fangs as the local British tribes. It will be possible to buy starting rank, but it will be expensive. There may also be a level of ST approval/control over whether or not an insta-Elder/insta-Athro etc is allowed.
Kinfolk are, as always, loved and appreciated. But they shouldn't all have numina. Some fera will be allowed, in small numbers, but will be restricted. I'm guessing some corax will be welcomed, but other races will need negotiation.
Any other questions? Opinions? Bribes?

I was tempted at one point to leave jez to run garou and see if I could run a ratkin game. It's never been done before, and it kinda strikes me as sorta cool.

Zietgeist Corax
Date: 2005-08-31 07:05 pm (UTC)And while I'm not a huge fan of the Anita Blake books, she did do some interesting things with her shapechangers... I liked that it wasn't just werewolves. I like diversity.
That being said, Corax are the coolest ever and all cool people agree with me.
