Some interesting links...
Apr. 22nd, 2011 06:41 pm...stolen from various people on my LJ friends list, buzz reading list, and dreamwidth reading list.
An interesting article comparing Beauty and the Beast and Tangled. I haven't seen Tangled (although I really want to, and not just because I'm told the heroine is a very 'Sally' kind of character), but I really do adore Beauty and the Beast and am not sold on the 'Beast as villain' line at all. Having said that, there are some interesting thoughts there.
Another interesting article, this time on 'calling out' on the internet. And it turns out that I feel oddly enough about the subject that I actually don't feel able to offer an opinion on the article one way or another, as I'm a bit worried that whatever I say will be 'wrong', which is a rather peculiar feeling. I think that I do agree that 'calling out' can turn into bullying. Equally, I do think it's important to speak out at times. And I know I feel utterly unqualified to know where the boundary lies.
BPAL D&D scents! These are making me do a little happy dance. I wants them, even if they are probably hideously overpriced and difficult to get hold of. I am sure there has to be a way I can make myself smell like a Mage right?
A Softer World. Maybe being a little too accurate for me. On this note, I can't find my favourite ever 'A Softer World'. The one which says "I asked for a fairytale romance. In my defense, I'd never read any actual fairy tales." If anyone happens to have a link to it, I'd love you forever.
With thanks to the people who I totally stole these links from.
