Five Good Things

1) I have World of Warcraft again, and got a small cute penguin pet in return for merging my WoW account with a battlenet account. This makes me happy. It's also Hallow's End which is really really fun.

2) Work is going really well - my boss said my first week's work was 'excellent', and my first school trip was a huge amount of fun. I got to do the lightning experiment and play with the tesla coil. And lo! It was glorious!

3) There's a really lovely small gelateria just up from Embankment which I discovered yesterday. Amazing dark chocolate ice cream, and wonderful rum and raisin. It's like ice cream heaven.

4) I get paid this week. Then I get paid again on the 13th November. So, I'm about to enter a short and glorious period of being rich! I may go quite mad with wealth.

5) I have just discovered a new, and very entertaining trashy historical writer. 'Mistress of the Art of Death', or CSI: 1172. It makes very little sense, but is great fun. I do recommend it. Oh, and if you're one of the very few people on my flist who likes romance novels, I also want to recommend Sherry Thomas for the most amazingly cheerful and non-creepy alpha male-tastic set of costumed romps I've ever encountered.

Have you read any CS Sanson? Does some fabulous Tudor murder/mystery things which are very readable (despite a protagonist who is more than a little bit wet).

5 things from me...

1) My job feels a little more secure today, having just been appointed “Data Integrity Champion” for the team. I have no real idea what this means, as it apparently doesn’t make much of a change to my role, but I’m not complaining.

2) This weekend, I get to play a game which isn’t Lost. The prospects of both Forsaken & Zeitgeist are enthusing me a huge amount right now, though this might just be a patch of some burn out with Lost at the minute.

3) Tonight, we tidy! The house desperately needs it, and I’m really looking forward it being cleaned up.

4) One of the guys in the office just randomly brought in some mince pies, so I’m going to get a decent cup of tea from downstairs and enjoy that shortly.

5) In Warcraft related stuff, I’ve been reminded how much I enjoy Tanking, and my gear is getting to a point where I’m going to be an actual viable option for some of the higher end runs. My DPS gear is still technically better, but I’ve gotten praise on my Tanking recently, so I’m very happy with that.

1) I saw lots of big stony things at the weekend! Rar! And lo, the wine flowed like water, and there were caramelised cocoa beans too, and all things were good.

2) In DDO last night we ran through not one but two raids. And my rogue covered herself with glory by managing to disarm 16 traps and unlock about that many locked doors without failing a single roll. She was saving against trap damage on a 2, as well :)

3) Tonight, I am staying late at work to watch a play. Because every year the Watermill Theatre come here and stage whatever they're currently touring with in our central atrium, for charity. How cool is that?!

4) I've just set up a fortnightly Abel and Cole delivery. I'm looking forward to having to be creative, and eating healthier, and everything being all organic and good :)

5) I've got POV-Ray installed on my home computer and a free day coming up. There is going to be obsessive programming graphics fun for me!
