Why I Try To Hang Up On Answerphones...

I just left the following message for reindeerflotila

"Hey...just wondering if you and your beloved would maybe be free for drinks or something this afternoon...just thought it would be nice if we could meet up in a non-gaming kind of way. Anyway, we'll be at the Black Horse this afternoon. Jez will be ST'ing, Ginnie will be lurking in the area trying to kidnap small children to sell into the slave trade. Ummmm...she says she's NPC'ing, but I've noticed the crime rate in the area always seems to go up when Ginnie is 'NPCing' or just hanging around. I might be playing, but might not as I'm still being a bit crazy, and figured I could maybe be non-crazy if just drinking or something.

"So, anyway, my phone is out of charge, but feel free to call Ginnie or jez if you guys are free. If not don't worry about it...at all...you don't need to get in touch. But it would be nice to see you. If you want. If not..."

"Anyway...see you soon. Bye..."

I hung up the phone, looked at Ginnie and said "this is why I never leave messages on answerphones."

Answerphones are highly risky if you're like me and periodically feel compelled to fill any long lasting silences. My messages always get highly out of hand.

astro_dust is I believe, still asleep......when the kraken awakes, rises and blearyeyed, emerges like the beautiful butterfly it is on the inside, I will ask it if it's up for it. Though we do have 1000 things to arrange thanks to the whole life upheaval plan which we have woefully neglected in favour of having fun, bad us.

Ah, you aren't the only one who gets nervous and rambles, I hate leaving messages on answermachines as they are usually fairly crazy by the time I finish them.

The worst thing I ever did was called someone, and got briefly confused as to whether I was talking to them or their answerphone, and left a message which went 'hello...hello...are you there? Are you there? I can't hear you. Oh? Hang on...this is an answerphone. Shit."

And then I hung up out of sheer confusion.

Certain evil people record a message for their answer phone like:

"Oh, heya! How's it going."

...

"Ha! Got you! This is an answerphone."

I also remember Heather's long and rambling answer phone message explaining that she'd been kidnapped by aliens...
