A day in the life
Apr. 23rd, 2009 08:54 amI'm a member of a community called
day_on_earth. It's a fun community - people from all over the world take a picture of things they see around them, and post them. So you can see what Thursday looks like in Texas, in Russia, in Finland, in Yorkshire.
And I like it, but, of course, all the people who post these pics are strangers to me. Equally, there are lots of lovely people on my friends list who's daily lives are equally strange to me. I don't know what their world looks to.
And therefore, today, I decided to bring
day_on_earth to my LJ. I want you, my beloved flist, to post me pictures taken on Thursday 23rd April. Take a picture with your camera phone (or proper phone if you have one) of something you see - your office, your route to work, a flower by the side of the road that caught your attention. Take a picture and post it in the comments.
I'll love you forever. I will...

That's Lower Road, at 8 am this morning. It's the view from my bus stop. You can see my house on the far right hand side. It's getting a lot brighter in the mornings, which makes me happier - I suck at getting up in the dark.
I'll try and add some more pictures throughout the day.
So, flist, what does your day look like? Show me the world as you see it...

Two to get started with
Date: 2009-04-23 08:23 am (UTC)The view from the front of my building.
Another view from my building - just behind those trees is where I used to have an allotment.

Date: 2009-04-23 09:40 am (UTC)I like ideas that let us know more about the worlds our friends inhabit - seems to be a bit of a lack in the 21st century.

Date: 2009-04-23 09:45 am (UTC)I have no real idea what it is that most of my friends do, and how they spend their days. I talk to many of them over e-mail through the day, or see their updates by LJ, but I have no real idea what they do around the time when they're chatting, or what they see through the day, and it's kind of a shame...

Date: 2009-04-23 11:37 am (UTC)More photos of my day...
Date: 2009-04-23 12:01 pm (UTC)The main building here.
The nice walkway along the front of the building, through the carpark. A huge suntrap, and there are benches at each end & in the middle.
The fountain at the far end. Occasionally, there are ducks here.
One of the dozen or so magpies that seem to haunt the area of the building. I only ever seem to see all of them, or one on it's own. Lucky me - or not.
Last one for now
Date: 2009-04-23 12:13 pm (UTC)My desk, which is actually looking tidier than normal - usually there's printouts and things scattered across it, in addition to cans, bottles, cups and other rubbish.
