Souvlaki is a cross between Ambrosia of the Gods and the End of the World. It's like a Kebab, but better and greek and has a fiendish garlic sauce. Stalactites never closes, and their giro is always slowly cookiung the meat, so it is somewhat dicing with death on the food poisoning front... but it's good in all the ways food can be good.
Oh, and go to The Kitten Club (http://www.kittenclub.com.au/index.php?page=home) as well. It's a very funky jazz/cocktail club.
And go to the Hopetoun Tea Rooms, they are in the Block Arcade on Collins Street between Swanston Street and Elizabeth street. Nicest sandwiches in the world!
