What dog breed are you? I'm a Poodle! Find out at Dogster.com

This amuses me.

I feel it may be true. I quite like poodles as well, sadly enough.

How is Sally today?

Better than I have been. Pondering various things - my attitudes to friendship, my weird concentric circles of people, and how to deal with people I don't like. I'm sure I used to be able to co-exist with people that rubbed me up the wrong way. Somewhere along the way I lost that, and developed this habit of just refusing to be in the same room as anyone I didn't like.

It's mostly not affected my life too much. At work, I work bloody hard on liking people, on being inoffensive and I mostly try and find a corner of my own in which to work. As the Fan Museum is quite good on leaving me alone in corners, I do fine.

In my social life, I've worked quite hard on creating my own little clique, where I get to spend time with people I really do like. And I avoid anyone I don't. The Cam, in that respect, has been quite scary for me. It's a place where anyone could turn up.

Ach. I'll keep pondering. In the meantime, I'm going to go to college.

"Bulldog

The Comedian

You may look like the troublemaker of the pack, but it turns out your tough guy mug is worse than its bite. You're really a softie, loyal to your friends and family and A-OK with meeting new pooches, but you prefer to do so with a high-five instead of a paw-shake. Proud of your great sense of humor, you've got a whole litter of jokes you draw from to keep the mood playful and the positive energy alive. A perfect afternoon for you involves a leisurely stroll with a pal, followed by a little downtime in an easy chair with a frosty can of brew and a remote control within easy fetching distance. You shed accusations of being lazy, knowing perfectly well that you're kenneling the energy you might need for... well... something."

Hello!

I wandered aimlessly into your journal via [livejournal.com profile] ellroy and was caught by your Worst Witch icon.

I shall apologise now for the randomness of this comment. I've been off sick the last few days and it brings out the internet stalker in me....

I am quite happy to have people stop by and admire my Worst Witch icon.

I adore the Worst Witch. I've always been quietly bitter that that upstart Harry Potter hit the big time, when Mildred was always just so much cooler...

I know what you mean. Got nothing against the Harry Potter books but I do find it annoying when people talk about it like nobody else has done anything like it before.

I used to love the Worst Witch when I was at school. I've still got all my old books and they're still in good condition. Didn't stop me buying them all new recently though! *never quite grew up*

Would you object to my adding you, by the way?

I am one of those too. According to the quiz.

As dogs I do like them.

Labrador Retriever
The Caretaker

Your family is what makes you tick, and you never "flea" from an opportunity to hang out with the whole gang. A family picnic complete with hot dogs, deviled eggs and a refreshing swim in the lake is hard for you to stray from. Your sparky temperament and dogged intelligence mean you are not only a blast to hang out with, but great to work with as well. Your close pals appreciate your patience and forgiveness, knowing you'd rather let sleeping dogs lie than dwell on the mishaps of the past. Your dashing good looks may one day lead to a modelling career, if only you can tame the unfortunate clumsiness that sometimes causes you to go flailing from the catwalk.

Tell me about it! I'm getting better though... I think it is because previously we didn't really have a choice about being able to go into another room - we had to deal, largely because the other room wasn't far enough away and they'd usually follow us.

"In my social life, I've worked quite hard on creating my own little clique, where I get to spend time with people I really do like. And I avoid anyone I don't."

Does that mean you don't really like me anymore *sobs* ;o)

I think it's also that now you have your own house and you do tend to socialise there or in the homes of the other members of your inner-friendship circle and that circle really is a circle and doesn't extend out much. I think it's also location, you have a group of friends in your local area and it doesn't really extend outside of that.

I do like you! I like you lots and wish I could see more of you.

I think I have become much more focused on my 'local' area, which is something I regret. In a lot of ways, getting back into Cam has been really good for me - it's got me traveling again and means I see people I've let drift away, which I do really appreciate.

(on another note - I am organzing a hen night for you. I've just been slow, and now I'm realising that Becky and I only have a couple of months! Eep!)

:o) Then move out of the smelly expensive huge city and move to the smelly, less expensive, huge city that I live in!

I never left cam, I just stopped travelling - course exhaustion and teaching also contributed to that. I know I'm really bad at going places, but I don't like to abandon Andy to go off on my own but if we both go then we have the cats and Tad to worry about and £17.50 is a lot to pay out just to attend a roleplaying game and that's before you add travel costs and food and other things.

You have under 3 months, 2 weeks and 1 day to sort it! I'm also planning on doing something on or around the 7th as my 'last birthday before I'm married, argggh! I'm getting married!" event.

If it helps I'm only just printing the invites to the wedding, and I keep changing my mind about how I'm going to do them. Am I going to have the personalised bit stuck in only on one side (at which point I can do 4 per page) or am I going to do it booklet style (at which point do I stick both sides down or do I use a staple and print something soppy on the front of the booklet). It doesn't help that people won't give me their addresses - which reminds me, do you have Mr Moody's address and are you allowed to give it out?

I do have Mr Moody's address. I do not have it on me, but I can send it to you when I get home.

I can remember most of it off the top of my head, but the house number is one I always get wrong, and I don't want random other men from Fore Street, Hatfield to turn up to your wedding.

Do you need my address btw? Or do you have it?

funky :o) I did add the date, time and location to his phone but expect that to have disappeared by the time the wedding comes around.

Unless you have moved I think I have it. :o)

If something scares you, attack it. Force yourself to meet new people who might be arsehats and people you know who are. Try to like 'em.
The more you do, the stronger and more capable you become. Until one day you can cope with anything...that's the idea anyway...works for me.

HAH! Not a black lab!
