Cirque du Soleil
Jan. 19th, 2008 11:09 pmI've just got back from the Cirque du Soleil.
ksirafai bought
pierot and I tickets for the show as our joint Christmas/birthday presents. And my god! It was amazing.
We got there at 6.45 pm to meet
molez,
wildrogue and Kali who were coming too, only to discover that Virginia had not just organised tickets for the show. Oh no! Instead we all had VIP tickets - we got dinner before, then free programmes, and free chocolate brownie in the VIP lounge during the interval. I felt very spoilt.
And then there was the show.
I can only say "wow".
Andy says that you can't really directly compare any of the Cirque du Soleil shows, but for me, personally, Varekai was the best I've ever seen. There were some amazing aerialists, and I adore aerialists. The clowns were really really very good, making me laugh out loud, and the visuals were beautiful and everything I always imagined 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' to be.
It was a complete dream show. I honestly feel like I'm still walking on air. It was just...
...perfect.
I'm so very very happy right now.

Date: 2008-01-20 10:43 am (UTC)There's nothing that seems appropriate of a Pictish nature that I've got. Norse stuff is a bit tricksy, as all the storm symbology is connected to Thor, and has often been used by dubious right wind people.
Randomly, I've found out that there's an Indian god of storms called Shri Indra who I'm now wondering whether he has any symbology associated with him.
