OK...

Plans for today appear to have changed.

Today I am apparently trying to mimic my Sally-doll namesake and have started coming apart at the seams. This has been happening since last night. After much bouncing of phone calls with the nurses at the Manor Hospital I've been told to go to my GP as soon as possible, it's probably normal and I just need bandaged up and given antibiotics, but if I get a fever or something I may have a infection and might need to go back into hospital.

They didn't think me going on Fun Day Trips with Americans was necessarily the most sensible of ideas.

As such I've not been able to go to Oxford and I think the Brighton day trip we had planned to take tomorrow is being re-arranged for next week. Mike has set out into the world by himself, backpack on his shoulders and a change of trousers, and is currently heading north. He's got my old mobile with him, and so is contactable by phone. If anyone wants to intercept him - feel free!

I shall be lurking in the house trying to get a bit of university work done.

Today has been an odd and mixed day so far, rather heavily influenced by the entire 'I'm falling apart' worry. On the plus side, the KABOOM-Y DOOM of the last couple of days has settled, and I didn't lose friends over it. This matters muchly. The dissertation progresses, and I'm going to have Indian food for dinner tonight when [profile] pierot gets in. [profile] vilenspotens's almost-family type are lovely as well. Donna bought me wych hazel when I told her about my stitches being bad. Apparently it's good for such things and acts as a mild soothing agent and disinfectant.

On a random side note - is it just me which loves the name 'wych hazel'?

Reassurance from personal experience.

My stitches popped open after my recent surgery and all it did was slow down healing by a week or two. Nothing to worry about really.
