*puuurrrs contentedly*
Oct. 20th, 2007 01:48 pmToday, I am happy.
I've had an unusually quiet but very lovely week.
An assortment of social plans have been canceled this week. This should make me sad, but instead it has left me relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. I think maybe it's been a while since I've had some time to wind down and it seems I've needed it.
This week I've spent a couple of evenings cooking and experimenting with various forms of stir fry. I've gone to the cinema with my housemates and seen the inestimably wonderful Ratatouille. I've even had a lovely night in last night with only my pet
pierot. We went out for dinner, then came home and snuggled up under a blanket on the sofa (due to the heating being slightly random in our house) and watched Zodiac, which is a very fine film. We then had a long lie in this morning, and I brought Jeremiah tea and carrot cake in bed.
I've had a good week at work, and at college, and I now feel enthused at the prospect of running around having more adventures this weekend. I've even had my very occasional yearning for dancing, which I think probably won't happen. It turns out that smokey enclosed places aren't normally good for men with chronic asthma and other respiratory problems. Instead I shall do cocktails, and then Stardust and that will make me happy.
In other news, I'm pondering going to a salsa class. Opinions?
Finally - I would review my latest BPAL scent. It's called 'the Lurid Library'. I have decided, however, that I dislike it enough that I don't wish to waste an entire LJ entry on it. I shall just say it smells like a perfume sample from a magazine and leave it at that...

Date: 2007-10-21 08:16 am (UTC)I would guess that formal classes, preferably with your own partner in tow, wouldn't be that bad - but it IS a very physically close type of dance, and there are some people out there who will take advantage of that. (And dance classes are often attended at least in part by those wanting to meet the opposite sex, rather than purely learn to dance...)

Date: 2007-10-21 09:24 am (UTC)I don't think I'd have a Jeremiah in tow - I mentioned it to him and he didn't seem keen. I could probably poke him, but I'd rather just bimble off by myself for one night a week.
I may try out a couple of different places, and avoid any which give off squicky vibes.
