The achiness of me
Mar. 20th, 2005 11:02 amI'm awake. Slept for five whole hours last night which is actually quite good for me. Since the operation I've been having to sleep on my back, almost sitting up and seriously propped up. It stops my stitches from hurting too much. Unfortunately it bears no resemblance to how I normally sleep, and so what I seem to have been doing since having my breasts chopped off is spend a lot of time cat napping. I get tired, I doze, I wake up, I get tired, I doze. I can't curl up and get a complete night's sleep. However, I think I had five and a half hours in total last night, so I'm definitely getting there.
In general I'm doing OK. I've been a bit out of it, and a bit groggy. Yesterday was a fairly bad day. The painkillers I was on were making me nauseous, so I decided to try and come off them and spent yesterday moving slowly from nauseous to achey. It wasn't great, but at the end of it I'm feeling a lot better. Aching is vastly preferable to wanting to puke.
I also manged to hug jez for the first time this morning for a while. That felt good. Yay me!
I'm not on e mail vast amounts at the moment, so I'm sorry if it takes me a while to catch to up with anything. I should be having my bandages off at the weekend, and I may be a bit brighter then. Until then, I'm alive.
puddingcat - any chance of calling you at some point? I'd love to have someone who knows how I'm feeling right now. You around, darlin'?
