So.

I'm about to head to bed.

Tomorrow morning at 7.15 am, I need to head off towards Birmingham to meet up with [profile] windzswept and [profile] becky_spence. This is scaring me. I don't do mornings. Not to that extent!

In other news, I just had a lovely couple of social days. I've been in a fairly vile mood of late. A combination of lunch with [profile] astro_dust, a night out with [profile] pierot and [profile] molez, lunch with [profile] mangochutney04 and then a nice night out with assorted folks to celebrate [profile] wildrogue's new job has really brightened my mood.

Life is going to be OK.

I had a girl in my field school who is looking for a Uni that does Museum studies, in particular archeology in the Medieval period. First person I thought of was you. Can you tell me if you know of anywhere I can direct her?

I only know about the UK. I also would probably say that medieval archaeology is quite different to museum studies, in my head.

Liverpool University does a course in museum management. In the UK, the University of Leicester, University College London, and the University of Manchester are the big three that do Museum Studies proper - I'd recommend University College, London as being the best of those for archaeology as well - they also have a decent archaeology department and a good archaeological conservation department.

For medieval archaeology, which I did my MPhil in, the universities I'm aware of as being good are Oxford, York, Reading, UCL, and probably Canterbury as well. Oh - Durham as well. They have an archaeological conservation course as well if that's somewhere she wants to go. That's mostly based off where some of the better medieval archaeologists are based - those universities all have some of the big names, in the Anglo-Saxon period in particular - teaching there.

I'm on the lookout for shoes btw. Remind me of that tomorrow. :o)
