Oxford Garou/Mage
Mar. 10th, 2005 12:49 pmAhem.
*looks embarassed*
It appears that I may have missed a small detail while planning the next Oxford game. This small detail is that the fourth Sunday of March is actually Easter Sunday, and apparently some people may not wish to spend their Easter Sunday pretending to be werewolves.
We then have the additional problem of the weekend beforehand being utterly unfeasible for both the DC and DST for real life reasons and the weekend afterwards being the Garou National, after which there is no more Garou chronicle.
At the moment I think I have five options:
Either way - these are the options we've got. Please comment/mail me/phone me or something and let me know your opinions. I've really got to make a decision by tomorrow in order to get something out on the lists in time.
So. What do people think?

At the moment I think I have five options:
- Run the game on the Sunday anyway.
Yeah, you heard me. Screw your families and all the good things associated with them. Sod spending some quality time lounging around eating chocolate. Come and play garou or mage. - Run the game on the Saturday before easter.
Hey - it's close enough! This is likely to be a bit more expensive and I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a venue for the Saturday in Oxford, but I think I can find something. - Run the game some time during the week - maybe a Thursday or Tuesday before or afterwards.
This would depend rather heavily on jez's work schedule and I'm not sure how feasible this is either, or whether many people would be able to make Oxford in the middle of the week. - Not have the Oxford game at all this month.
To be honest, if it weren't the end of the world I'd be more tempted. I think I'd quite like Oxford to end properly, if we can find a way to make that happen. - Run Oxford the next weekend, straight after the Garou National.
In some ways this actually vaguely appeals. Caroline spoke about wanting the Oxford game to continue without the garou mostly because she wanted the Garou chronicle to be remembered. In some ways I think it might be interesting to work as closely as possible with the National ST team and work out if we can run an 'epilogue' game, where the after effects of the National are felt and possibly some of the garou PCs would get to interact with the mages one last time and say their goodbyes/end the crossover. Again - not sure if the ending of the Garou chronicle is likely to let that work.
Either way - these are the options we've got. Please comment/mail me/phone me or something and let me know your opinions. I've really got to make a decision by tomorrow in order to get something out on the lists in time.

Date: 2005-03-10 01:42 pm (UTC)My personal vote is for not overly bothered where it goes.
And the mitre on a saturday night is 100 pounds I believe. And a lot more likely to be booked than it is on sundays.

Date: 2005-03-10 02:25 pm (UTC)Maybe I'll have to hang around then to make sure I get my part of that dinner. :) I have no ideas for character concepts though. Partly because I have no idea of what is going on in the venue at the moment.

I'm kinda like you, really. I don't know much about mage and I'm not quite sure what to do. I might end up just trying to learn the rules and AST'ing/NPC'ing or pottering and seeing if anything interesting shows up.

Date: 2005-03-10 02:38 pm (UTC)I might ask if I'm wanted to NPC. I know oxford well enough that I could play somebody on the council. I doubt I'll get another PC though because its just too much to try to work a character in at this stage to get involved.

Date: 2005-03-10 01:50 pm (UTC)Like Chris says - perhaps you can persuade Caroline to include it as part of the National

Date: 2005-03-10 02:37 pm (UTC)However, I do know that the ANST knocked herself out getting the extension to 1st week in April so the National could be run and I am really, really distressed and upset that my team has let her down. I'm not saying it's anyone's fault (I don't think it is) but we have let her down over this. There WILL be a National but the ANST should not have to be worrying about venue issues!
Oh, the Oxford thing is an ST-Chain decision.

Date: 2005-03-10 02:49 pm (UTC)And I only thought that the oxford thing might be an NC thing because of any potential conflict with the licence agreement if a mage/garou crossover game (the garou bit being the most important) is run after the deadline for all apocalypse games to have finished. Not really my problem though, just want to make sure things won't cause problems.

Date: 2005-03-10 03:35 pm (UTC)No, we are not allowed to run games after the chronicles have finished. My ST brain can think of a number of ways around this, but those would need to be cleared up the ST Chain. My ST brain does not exercise itself on behalf of the Cam. That was a decision I made for the sake of my own sanity.
I will remove my bad head space from this LJ now.
Sorry.
