Is there anyone out there who is interested in the Waterboys?

Jeremiah and I have three tickets for tonight, which we can't use due to this damn cold that's going around. The tickets are five rows back in the stalls, they are £25 each, cover price, but we'll accept almost any cash anyone wants to throw at us, and the concert is at the Royal Albert Hall tonight at 7.30 pm, finishing around 10.30 pm.

I am moping about the fact that we can't go, but would not like to see the tickets go to waste.

I can probably arrange to meet up with someone at Canada Water or Waterloo to drop off tickets.

Anyone interested?

Curse you and all you stand forIs fine. :)

It is very last minute, and I do entirely understand if most people have alternative plans for a Friday night!

Is it me, or is "The Pan Within" the least subtle song ever?

I love it.

The Waterboys have an alarmingly big thing for Pan. 'The Great God Pan' was the first of their songs I ever heard...he seems to slide into a lot of their music.

And yes. It's not that subtle a set of lyrics, but I think quite sweet, in an odd way.

"Put your face in my window/Breathe a night full of treasures"?

It always makes me smile.

Red Army Blues might be one of the best songs I know, though.

I just have always loved how much magic they put into their lyrics. The Waterboys don't just sing about falling in love and getting dumped - I always got the feeling there was this whole other world behind their music, and it wasn't constrained by reality in any way.

Well, that or I was taking a lot of metaphors way too literally.

get well soon
