Bah. And humbug
Mar. 12th, 2008 12:25 pmSo.
It appears my laptop has died.
Or rather, the screen has gone again. I haven't dropped it, no one has trodden on it, and it was totally fine last night. This morning there is only a black screen. Everything else is working, I think. I can hear it all buzzing along, and the occasional noise of programmes starting up when I try and boot it up, but there is no screen.
I'm just out of my warranty, so no hope of getting it fixed for free.
I was considering getting a new laptop, and am quite close to just trying to transfer the contents of my hard drive to a datastick, and then looking for something new.
Why do laptops always die so fast?
In other news, I had a lovely day yesterday. I went to see Leah, an old friend from school, and her adorable daughter. Charlotte Darbyshire is a complete sweetheart, with the biggest blue eyes I've ever seen. It was fab just to hang out with Leah for a bit.
I'm now home, feeling very very poor, and wishing I had the cash to go out and do something exciting to do. Thankfully, my father tells me that I should be getting a little bit of inheritance money through in the next week, which won't make me rich, but will pay off my credit card, and leave me a little bit of money to buy something shiny with. Which will probably be a laptop, but I'll see if I can weasel some money aside for something frivolous as well.
In the interim, I shall head out into the day and go hunting for books, which may actually be useful for me. I shall do college work today. I shall. I shall.
And today will turn out alright in the end...
