I think I might be needing to slow down again. I woke up this morning at 8.30 and it almost hurt getting out of bed. It's now gone 10.30 am, I'm in the library, and I'm still half asleep. I actually managed to blank out a chunk of the drive from Reading to Oxford.

And last night was my night off!

This term is actually harder work than last term was. Last term I was on an essay every other week. This term I'm on an essay per week, plus I give an hour long presentation/discussion on the essay topic on Friday afternoon. I've got my dissertation to work on*, I've got two assessed essays to write, and as well as that I never entirely know where I'm spending my weekends.

Obviously, having realised this, I should now slow up, spend more time in Oxford, go out less, and work a bit more. Sadly, the next week looks at me. It looks, and it laughs. It chuckles and points to Sunday night being in London where I'm going to see Cirque du Soleil. It cackles and reminds me that Monday is my birthday and I've invited assorted people round to Chez Isalani for cake and more cake. It does a malevolent dance and points out that I have an Institute of Archaeology social on Tuesday and I have faithfully promised to be there, having missed the last two.

However, as of next Wednesday I faithfully swear that I will slow down a bit, work more, spend more time with my books. Erm. Except for the weekend afterwards which is a London weekend with possible visitors from many miles awa...

So. One day? Perhaps? I will slow down. In the interim I'll just crawl away to my nice dark and warm lecture room.

Oh - and current plans for Sunday lunch involve meeting at the Haagan Daazs cafe around noon in order to leave at 12.30 to look for a nice Italian restaurant as there seem to be a fair few in the area and I really fancy a nice lasagne. *nods firmly* I hope to see people then.

* which is actually going really well. Carlisle is the most wonderous place ever. I'm sure no one has ever said that before. Neither is it normal to do happy dances over bits of broken brick with motar attached

That may be true. Unfortuantely I was respondign to your summary of what was said and having had it generalised to me that much while as a Speed Awareness Scheme I thought I'd share my thoughts. There we were basically told that if we couldn't remember a journey we obviously weren't paying attention. I think that it is more likely that nothing happened that is worthy of note. I didn't bother arguing with that guy though because I believe he had the power to "fail" me on the course and thus I'd get three points on the licence in a very bad way... :)
