BPAL: The Girl
Sep. 29th, 2009 10:31 amThe site says: A seductive, serpentine white scent, elusive, crystalline, and spellbinding: white amber, silver birch, immortelle, davana, pale musk, star jasmine, and ylang ylang.
In the bottle: This reminds me of the kind of perfume I used to find in Crabtree and Evelyn. It smells slightly of country cottages, and little glass bottles of perfume sitting on chintzy dressers. It's a scent that makes me think of floaty floral dresses and big straw hats.
On the wrist: Hmmm. This is an odd scent. At first it is really faint and delicate - I can barely smell it on my wrist, but I like it. I can pick up the jasmine and I think the silver birch. It's etherial, and quite lovely. Then, weirdly, it actually picks up in strength. An hour later, all the delicacy has been wiped away by a much stronger musk, and I'm really not so sure I like it anymore. The next morning it is still there, and it's bugging me slightly. It's not a bad scent, but it's surpisingly strong and it very much smells like my grandmother's perfume.
Overall: Interesting, but I think one for the swap pile. 7/10
