OK.

It appears that my college forgot to send me a letter.

One in which my department asked for my dissertation to be submitted on the Friday of 6th Week.

That, by the way, is next Friday.

I don't think I'll be moving from my computer for the rest of the week. I should still make the theatre outing to see 'Who's Afraid Of Virginia Wolf', but I think all other social outings are cancelled.

Damnit. I've been asking if there was a date by which I needed to submit this damn thing since September and everyone has been vague at me. Why the hell do they have to tell me this now?

That's what jez and my Dad have suggested. I've called the college tutor and expressed concerns, but in the meantime I'm just writing to get as much done as possible.

If you have asked for clarifiaction and it has not been provided, especially if the querry has ever been in writting you are entitled to some answers and som eexplanations yto why such a core fact is not immediatly availible to you and the lecturers. I would consider broaching the issue with the students union as well.

It must be noted, when I got the call from my college secretary (who was quite apologetic) it did occur to me that at least they had noticed and hadn't continued with the line they gave me this morning which was 'we think it's next term' coz that could have been bad!

Although the people involved should be slapped silly for being complete arses, there is a bright side - next Friday, it will all be over.
