annwfynRyan - I found this on rotten tomatoes - tis a review of Jarhead by an ex-soldier who served in the Gulf War, and disagrees with your view that Jarhead is a realistic portrayal of military life. I thought you might find it interesting. I know naaathing so can make no comments.
