This review comes courtesy of [profile] lanfykins who turned up at Zeitgeist tonight with a little bag of imps and let me try out the peculiar brews. And lo! Chimera was good!

Site description: The fiery, volatile scent of cinnamon, thickened by myrrh, honeysuckle, and copal.

In the bottle: A quite thick scent - smells like incense, with a good body, and a definite warmth to it.

On the wrist: When I first put it on my wrist it seemed a lot stronger, and a bit too harsh at first. Five minutes later and it had mellowed to a lovely warm incense-y scent, which reminded me of the scented oil I used to rub on my wrists when I was a teenager. I think that may have had myrrh in it as well. Definitely good memories and associations for me - I actually kept sniffing at my own wrist all evening.

One hour later: It lasted really well, mellowing into a gorgeous warm and slightly woody scent. I think the honeysuckle definitely was discernable. Sarah talked a lot about the cinammon in it - I don't think it came across that strongly to me, but that might have been my nose fixating on the myrrh.

Final Verdict: 7/10. Maybe 8/10. Not sure. I think I need to try more of the bpal scents to get a better idea of what is good and what is bad. I've not used perfume in AGES.

I definitely like it enough that I'd happily trade/pay to get a vial of my own, should anyone have one which they are looking to offload right now.
