October is coming near.

Now, in days of yore, this was a terrible thing indeed. Throughout my teens I seemed to have an amazing ability to snog a boy in October who would promptly break my heart and who I'd yearn over for the rest of the year. And this made October miserable. It was the time of year for heartbreak.

Now these days I don't have that happen. But I do seem to have something infinitely more depressing than that.

My car is making strange noises and there's an alarming light flickering on the dashboard and my laptop has just lost the ability to get power from the mains.

I'm off work today, thank god, but it's all turning into a very busy and manic day.

EDIT - it's going to cost me 60 quid to get my laptop fixed. At least it is fixable.

My Octobers used to be filled with breaking up other people's relationships (usually by asking searching questions) and then going out with, or at least engaging in some kind of pre-fling behaviour, the woman in question.

Octobers are weird.

October was traditionally the dump month in Australia - it was when the spring really began and people started looking different and suddenly everyone was splitting up. I think Halloween was invented to dissipate the October energies before they taint the rest of the year.

I still can't but help but like it, one of my favourite months.

Tis the season, apparently. Hopefully it is not too serious!
