Good things

I got my essay finished, and I have Levellers tickets for 7.30 pm on Wednesday 23rd February in London. At the moment I think we have me, pierot, nymphomare, wildrogue, imnotagoth and isalani coming.

This is all good stuffs.

Bad stuffs are lingering a bit today, and I am feeling crappy and poorly. I'm heading out to the doctors now, in the hope of being given magic curative medicine to stop me being flu-ey and ill. If it doesn't work I may have to start hunting unicorns.

But until then I shall focus on the good things. I believe there are still Levellers tickets availble for anyone who wants to come, by the way? It's £17.50 for the tickets, and then with handling and postage it comes out as £21 per head.

I like the Levellers. I've liked them since I was young and grungy and wore very short skirts with battered doc martins, painted with yin/yang symbols and an elaborate silver picture of a witch on a broom flying across my left ankle. I've liked them since I was skinny and always wore make up and would start an evening by downing five shots of vodka and orange in quick succession, leaving the glasses lined up along the bar. Heck, I think I might even have liked the Levellers when I was still drinking cider, before the evening in the Bricklayers Arms when I tried to down half a pint and brought it straight back up into the christmas decorations.

I've never seen them live, however. And now I shall.

That makes me happy.

I would love to join you, but it is far and I go into hospital in Edinburgh on the 24th. :(

It kind of amuses me to hear you talk about liking them in the days when you wore short skirts and battered DMs, though, because it sound so very familiar. Only I have seen them live, once, at either the first or second T in the Park.

Aha! No...I did get that...and you were on my 'must reply to' list but I got crap. Very sorry.

I think the hotel you suggested was a little pricey, but I was kinda waiting to see if that was where everyone was going to be, coz I figured it might be worth it if that is where Alex D et al were likely to be hanging out.

Then no one hit the 'reply all' button and I kinda got lost in other things.

don't worry about it, I just thought that you maybe hadn't gotten it like last time.

Alex has a proper grown up job, and is therefore coming to stay at the hotel where my parents are staying, even tho it's quite expensive. I'm sorry it's so dear, but my family are mainly the people who are coming to stay and they really wanted to stay in the nice hotel. The other option is the IBIS which is 75 pounds and my family felt that 125 for a much nicer hotel was worth it.

I think we might hold off and look for somewhere a little bit cheaper. Jeremiah is working, but I don't know what my situation will be - I'll only be just out of university so we might need to look for a little B&B. I seem to remember my Dad using one or two which were really quite nice.

Levs were my first and second concert experience, but since the age of fifteen I've always had something else on whenever they were in concert in my area.

One day this shall be rectified...one day.
