This is a rare happy LJ entry.

For this, I feel the need to thank [profile] castorlion, who has started taking me along to the Hatfield and Welwyn Community Choir, where I am discovering that I can still sing, a little bit, if someone gives me a note to follow, and [profile] jholloway who is patiently taking me through the very slow process of painting miniatures, specifically Malifaux miniatures, which are my pure and perfect love and far nicer than 40k models will ever be.

I’m currently building an Arcanist army, and am lusting over the possibilities of future models to paint.

I think life is often up and down with me, and it’s important to remember the ups as well, the things that cheer me up and make me feel encouraged about the world in general.

Today, choir and model painting are those things.

An appeal from the Asha Trust )

I seem to be doing a few charity appeals on here of late, so sorry about that, but they are always for organisations that really matter to me!

This is an organisation run by some people who used to work with my stepbrother's wife, so definitely a genuine and decent organisation. My stepbrother and family visited them when they were last out in Sri Lanka and were really impressed.

They currently need to raise another $9000 to be in with a chance of getting this $25000 funding. What's more, the more individual donors they get, the better their chances, so even a really small donation could really really help.

I know many of you probably already give as much as you can, and that's totally fine, but if any of you can spare a couple of quid, then it would be fantastic if you could throw it towards the Asha Trust.
