annwfyn: (christmas - snow falling)
I just got in from Asda, with my food for Christmas dinner.

Yes, I know it's 2 am, but I'd been fretting about where we were going to get our meat from. For I do not know of any decent butcher's in South East London, and I was scared the supermarket would be overwhelmed by last minute shoppers and there would be no turkey. And, well, when I was wandering around South East London at 10 pm this evening* I noticed that Asda opened at 0.01 am on Monday morning. And there were lots of busy looking people putting nice looking foods on the shelves, which couldn't be gone by midnight.

So, I came home, collected a [profile] pierot and a [profile] wraithwitch and we went shopping.

We now have a goose (the only goose in the shop, which makes you wonder) and a variety of other Christmassy things, including a strange set of crackers which apparently all contain skating Father Christmasses. In fact, all we now need is a nice selection of croissant, and the like for Christmas breakfast** and some vegetables for the main meal and we're totally done, plus we have enough cheap food to last us through until Christmas Day.

We also managed to dodge the zombies which Raven and jez suspected were lurking there, and I tried sailing along the aisle in a shopping trolley. Raven and I have also decided that Cliff Richard may actually be a lich. With a zombie army. Watch the video to 'Mistletoe and Wine'. It all makes sense! Really!

I got in a little while ago, in a fine (if slightly surreal) mood, to find a really nice e mail from [profile] skinny_cartman, which has rounded off my day nicely.

I should do more of my shopping at 1 am. It improves the whole experience hugely.

* It's a long story.

** I'm ritutalistic about what I eat on Christmas Day, OK?
