HOUSE DAY!

...and I'm brain jittery and nervous and don't like waiting!

As of yesterday, all the money from the Abbey was with my lawyer. As of midday today (according to my lawyer), the money should be with the sellers' solicitors and I should have keys to my house.

I don't think I can wait much longer!

Damnit. Why do I have to just sit here? I feel like a kid before Christmas, or a kid before exams. I don't quite know what. And I really am so bad with this waiting nonsense.

I want my house. I want to know that nothing has gone wrong. And I want it all NOW!

pierot have just got back from our house.

Yup. Our house. Our own house, which is ours, all ours (well, ours and the Abbey National).

We collected the keys from the estate agent, went over there, and ordered pizza which we ate sitting on the sitting room floor. Then we wandered around the place, argued over how much building work needed done, and then kissed and made up, and agreed to get the builders in for a quote. We're now home, and I'm making a list of what needs done in the next two weeks so we can start moving in in September, and jez is lounging in the bath, occasionally reading bits aloud from the Inquisition book and cackling demonically.

I fear for ZG Mage. I fear greatly.

Anyway, for my own reference, I add the list of 'Stuff Wot Needs Done' to my livejournal. Feel free to not read if you find it dull, but if you are a homeowner/long term tenant/builder/electrician/helpful soul, feel free to comment with any advice, idea on how much things may cost, any ways of getting it done cheaply, recommendations on people who could help, or offers to come over and redecorate my house for free*

What else am I not thinking about? Is there anything blindingly obvious to anyone who hasn't even seen my house that I'm not thinking about?
