A new job, a new day, and a new film

*yawns sleepily*

So, Sally, how did the new job go yesterday?

It went pretty well. The people are nice, the office is comfortable, the commute can be be done in about 35 minutes, I'm right next door to ksirafai, thus allowing for lunchtime meetings-up, and I seem to be able to do the work. There are a few downsides - I don't think I'm really contactable by phone in office hours (I am on a switchboard and am really not meant to be on another phoneline if someone calls), and I'm not sure if LJ is allowable at work. The Cancer Research UK firewall blocks it it I try to go there directly. If I go there via a link it's fine, but it does make me a bit nervous. As such, I may therefore not be on LJ vast amounts over the next week or so while I work out what is and is not allowable here.

Oh, and weren't you seeing 'Serenity' last night?

I was. I think it's best I don't talk about it though, as I think I might offend people.

What? But it's a film of dazzing brilliance that everyone loves and has touched them like nothing else!

I think that's why it's best that I don't talk about it. It appears that I have no soul and have but a cold and stony heart.

Either that, or I walked into the wrong film entirely. Are there two space westerns out at the moment? It would explain a lot.

Erm. No. It's just Serenity. I think you saw the right film.

Serenity: A Negative Review (with spoilers)

First of all, I would like to state that there are spoilers within. If you haven't seen this film yet, I don't think you should read this. Secondly, I am warning in advance that this is a rather negative review. Despite this, I'm aware that 'Serenity' is a film which has brought a lot of my friends a lot of happiness, and as such I think it's probably a good thing.

I am writing this as an explanation to those who have asked 'so why didn't you like the film?'.

( This is why I didn't like that film... )

And that's me done.

In other news, I really liked 'A History Of Violence' and found it a very moving and interesting film dealing with some interesting issues. Can I also recommend 'It's All Gone Pete Tong' which I think is out of DVD now. It wasn't big and many may not get it, but I rather liked that as well.

And now, work is done and I am heading home!
