As some may know, I've recently been rather enthused by the [profile] day_on_earth LJ community, which is a community featuring photographs from around the world, all taken on the same day. There's something very cool about seeing how 'today' looks to different people in different places. The community has also got me using my digital camera, and I think that's got to be a good thing.

I also got a properly licensed copy of photoshop, along with a scanner, for Christmas this year from my Dad. This is something I love, and this evening I managed to bring my current fondness for taking snapshots wherever I go and my great joy in fiddling with photoshop together.

I was going to make this my photo for the day on [profile] day_on_earth, but it's a bit heavily photoshopped and doesn't really look naturalistic, which I think is against the point of the community, but it did look kinda cool, and so I offer it up for your amusement.

In other news, I am still more than a little poorly. I've been dozing on and off all day, and waking up drenched with sweat and feeling icky and feverish. I feel rough as all hell, but I really really really don't want to miss more college. It's book binding tomorrow as well, which I'm rather fond of. I'm hoping I'll feel better in the morning, but if I don't...

Where do you guys draw the line? How ill do you have to be to stay home? And how stupidly far have you pushed yourself to avoid taking time off sick?

It all depends on a bunch of things for me. Sometimes, I'll turn up to work when I really shouldn't be there, and am so ill I'm not able to acheive anything, and others, I'll take the day off "because I feel a bit rough".

It depends on my enthusiasm for work at the time, mainly.

I guess I judge sickness on my ability to function/ move. No functioning = no go to work. One of my friends has the philosophy of, if you are so sick you wouldn't bend down to pick up £20 of the floor you are too sick. I wouldn't go that far but it is definately down to how much I can face moving and do stuff.
