While I remember...

Yesterday was mostly game&roleplaying&thaifood as per normal. [personal profile] bringeroflight, [profile] pierot, [profile] ksirafai and myself headed off towards the College Arms at around noon-ish, and it was that journey that contains my actual tale of unusual events.

We got caught the bus in the end, due to it being hot and the tube tending towards the uncomfortable sticky at the moment. We were sitting on the no. 188 bus towards Russel Square going past Elephant & Castle, when the bus stopped. We blinked, we peered, we tried to work out what had happened and then we saw them.

We saw a dozen men wearing large quantities of feathers dancing in the road. They were followed by a large lorry with a bunch of Brazillian carnival queens doing Shakira-style things with their hips, and then a group of women in very large hats.

We gazed, somewhat amazed.

No one expects the road to be blocked by Latin American dancing!

It turns out that what we ran into was the procession of the Carnaval del Pueblo, making its way through London. It was, to be fair, very colourful, and it's not often that you see costumes that match the police's bright yellow vests.

We were, however, two hours late, and no one believed me when I arrived and told them it was all down to dancing Aztecs. I've got to admit, it didn't sound too feasible when I was saying it myself.
