OK...

My thesis now contains 5274 words. Sadly I had to edit some of my finer paragraphs upon the advice of readers who felt that:

They're dead. Dead. Dead. All of them. All dead.

It's because they are Anglo-Saxons.

No one lives for 2000 years. So they are dead.

...might not be what my supervisor is looking for, but I've still got over 5000 words.

It is only a Masters thesis, so only needs to contain between 8000 and 10000 words in total.

I've got until Thursday morning to get it finished, then it is being bound on Thursday afternoon and handed in on Friday morning.

I'm not actually making bad time. I'm beginning to feel kinda optimistic, and I'm certainly feeling really cheery at the prospect of this whole damn thing being done. I think I'm ready to be done with Oxford University, and move on to something else. And my god! The thought of being free to work for money is just a fantastic one right now.

OK. Onward!

Sally, I know you can do it. And when I get my replacement bank card back, then I suggest that I must reward you in some way for completeing your thesis in record time, possilby involving some sort of ice cream. If you are up for it. ;)
