Heat

For the last three nights in a row now, I've woken up at 4 am on the dot, so uncomfortably hot that I feel like I can't stay in bed, feeling like I'm being burned by my own sheets, all hot and sweaty from the presence of my own body.

For the last three days in a row, walking around during the day has left me feeling nauseous and crappy due to the heat.

I'm a wuss, I don't like this heat, and it's making me feeling really rough and pretty damn grouchy. Many apologies to anyone I'm grumpy at. I'm a vile creature, who should know better, but I just feel horrible at the moment.

In other news:

  • Contracts have now been exchanged on the house and [profile] pierot and I will be house owners as of August 31st. This is GOOD.

  • Camberwell College of Art have lost my application. They've got my references, and think they may have seen my application once, and it may be with the head of department. But they're not sure. This is BAD.

  • I appear to have lost half a stone over the last three and a half weeks courtesy of Weight Watchers. This is GOOD.

  • I have been swimming every day for the past two weeks. I am unsure whether this is GOOD or BAD. On one hand, I'm fairly sure the exercise is good for me and it's great in this heat, but on the other hand I'm beginning to get a bit fed up of my hair always smelling of chlorine and feeling slowly more brittle. I am CONFUSED.

Life is generally, I think, OK. But dear god the heat. Please let it end...

So, after many many rants, threats, and obnoxious letters, the sellers have their desired date of closure. We've signed the papers. We're ready to exchange contracts.

And suddenly they've vanished. They've stopped talking to their estate agent, to their solicitors.

What are they up to now?

Oh, and in a confused way, I appear to have lost height. I've been following the weight watchers diet for the last two weeks and I decided to weigh myself on one of the shopping mall weighing machines. I've used it before, and I've always shown up as 5'7". Last time I weighed myself, two weeks ago, I was rather peturbed to discover I was apparently 5'6" (and .11 of an inch). Today, I was just 5'6".

I'm losing just under an inch a week.

I didn't know that dieting could do this.

Help?
